Principal's Message (English & Spanish)

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you enjoy a well-deserved summer respite with your children. It is my privilege and honor to be the principal of Legacy VAPA and welcome your children on August 14 at 8:30 am. I will work passionately to serve this community. This is our community. Our students and community need us, and we need you. Every day I am thankful for the food and shelter I have. This is due to your children. Please support us to ensure all students are here every day to accomplish this reasonable goal and expectation of high school graduation for all students. We are here to serve you and the needs of this community to ensure all students graduate in 4 years. Today, a high school diploma is a minimum requirement.

As I begin my tenure, I will work intimately with the staff and community to ensure we create the structures and systems to facilitate academic achievement for all students at Legacy VAPA. We will be focused on coherently implementing the school initiatives and goals, which include the Growth Areas for Continuous Improvement from WASC and applying and measuring the expectations for our school community. Our plans and goals will embody the LAUSD Strategic Plan, LAUSD Region East’s goals, and the school’s mission/vision. We will be focused on coherently implementing school initiatives, school goals, and expectations for our school community.  

Along with the teachers and staff, we will continue to work diligently to continue our personalized focus by building positive and impactful relationships with parents, students, and our community.  We will continue to focus on character, citizenship, collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. We will utilize data to drive instruction, and to provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase students' achievement. This year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, impactful, and help them build positive and meaningful relationships while making real-world connections. All of us at Legacy VAPA are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever.

I look forward to working with you to support each student meeting their goals and having a successful school year! I welcome your involvement as we work to provide the finest education for all our students.  As the principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors is excited to be here. This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.  My door is always open, and your input is essential. I encourage you to contact me with your ideas, suggestions, and concerns. Finally, there are many school events scheduled for our parents and community members. Coffee at Legacy VAPA will be scheduled monthly and Back to School is on September 7, 2023, from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Queridos padres y guardianes,

Espero que hayas disfrutado de un merecido descanso este verano con sus hijos. Es un privilegio y un honor para mí ser el director de Legacy VAPA y darles la bienvenida a sus hijos el 14 de agosto a las 8:30 am. Trabajaré apasionadamente para servir a esta comunidad. Esta es nuestra comunidad. Nuestros estudiantes y nuestra comunidad nos necesitan y nosotros te necesitamos a ti. Todos los días doy gracias por la comida y el refugio que tengo. Esto se debe a sus hijos. Por favor apóyenos para garantizar que todos los estudiantes estén aquí todos los días para lograr esta meta razonable y expectativa de graduación de la escuela secundaria para todos los estudiantes. Estamos aquí para servirle a usted y a las necesidades de esta comunidad para garantizar que todos los estudiantes se gradúen en 4 años. Hoy en día, un diploma de escuela secundaria es un requisito mínimo.

Al comenzar mi mandato, trabajaré íntimamente con el personal y la comunidad para garantizar que creemos las estructuras y sistemas para facilitar el rendimiento académico de todos los estudiantes de Legacy VAPA. Nos concentraremos en implementar de manera coherente las iniciativas y objetivos escolares, que incluyen las Áreas de Crecimiento para la Mejora Continua de WASC y aplicar y medir las expectativas para nuestra comunidad escolar. Nuestros planes y metas incorporarán el Plan Estratégico del LAUSD, las metas de la Región Este del LAUSD y la misión/visión de la escuela. Nos concentraremos en implementar de manera coherente iniciativas escolares, metas escolares y expectativas para nuestra comunidad escolar.

Junto con los maestros y el personal, continuaremos trabajando diligentemente para continuar con nuestro enfoque personalizado al construir relaciones positivas e impactantes con los padres, los estudiantes y nuestra comunidad. Continuaremos enfocándonos en el carácter, la ciudadanía, la colaboración, la comunicación, la creatividad y el pensamiento crítico. Utilizaremos datos para impulsar la instrucción y proporcionar una implementación consistente del plan de estudios de manera rigurosa para que podamos continuar aumentando el rendimiento de los estudiantes. Este año será increíble a medida que continuemos brindando experiencias académicas para nuestros estudiantes que sean rigurosas, relevantes, impactantes y les ayuden a construir relaciones positivas y significativas mientras establecen conexiones con el mundo real. Todos nosotros en Legacy VAPA estamos ansiosos y emocionados de comenzar lo que promete ser el mejor año de todos.

¡Espero trabajar con usted para ayudar a cada estudiante a alcanzar sus metas y tener un año escolar exitoso! Doy la bienvenida a su participación mientras trabajamos para brindar la mejor educación a todos nuestros estudiantes. Como director, es importante para mí que todos los que cruzan nuestras puertas estén emocionados de estar aquí. Esta actitud nos permite enfrentar los desafíos de la excelencia académica en un ambiente positivo, divertido y enriquecedor. Mi puerta siempre está abierta y su opinión es esencial. Te animo a que me contactes con tus ideas, sugerencias e inquietudes. Finalmente, hay muchos eventos escolares programados para nuestros padres y miembros de la comunidad. El café en Legacy VAPA se programará mensualmente y el evento Regreso a Escuela es el 7 de septiembre de 2023, de 5 p. m. a 7 p. m.
